The Farm
Montanel is located outside Bogotá, Colombia's Capital City. Due to
our location close to the Equator we have year round direct sunlight.
Bogotá is located on a mountain plateau, with an altitude over sea level
of more than 2.600 meters. The average temperature year round is 60º F.
These ideal weather and climatic conditions allow us to produce very
high quality fresh cut lilies at all times of year since we have no
seasons.
Our lilies are cut as buds. They are carefully packed in cardboard
boxes.Sent to our local international airport, on a 20 minute drive from
our farm. They are placed on pallets and flown to Miami on a 3 hour
international flight from Bogotá.
From there on they can be delivered practically anywhere in the
continental USA. They may be handled and preserved in cold rooms, so by
the time the final consumer gets them, the lilies are open and fresh. |
